Welcome To My Jungle

Hi my name is Angela I have started this page to help Bird People find other Bird People. I like to go to towns and find bird shops, other breeders and places I can buy toys and food for my birds. Also I notice so many people have birds that need new homes. I thought by putting rescue contacts this would give people a place to go.

I never thought I would become a bird lady but I have. I bought my first birds in 1996. They were just two small Parakeets with a lot of attitude. I did not know these two little birds would forever change my life.

I then saw an add for baby Cockatiels in Walla Walla. They were hand fed babies and I was able to pick up one. The lady I bought the Cockatiel from gave me a book on Cockatiels. This became a very important book in my library.

When I brought home my new Cockatiel my male Parakeet fell madly in love. He followed the Cockatiel everywhere. His mate got very jealous and they began to fight. So I gave the female Parakeet to my sister in law who loved her!

My Cockatiel received the name Boo Bird from my son who couldn't say blue at the time. Elijha ( my male parakeet) and Boo bird were very happy together for a long time. One day I woke up and Elijha had passed away. I never did know how old he was but thought he was up there in age. I had bought him from a pet store in Tri-Cites. Boo Bird became very sad and I set out to find Boo a friend. I ended up finding one at Pet Smart. Was the meanest Cockatiel I have ever met. My son named her Dolly.

Later on I became friends with Tigger from the Federal Way Bird Cage. I took Dolly and Boo in to see her and she told me that Dolly was a male. So Dolly soon became Harley. I found the Bird Cage to be my second home. Tigger taught me a lot and I enjoyed every second hanging out at her bird store.

While hanging out at the Bird Cage I learned a lot of valuable knowledge about birds. I also got to work with many birds. I found my life companion an African Grey Congo named Sweets. The name is miss leading since there are only two people she will let hold her. My son and me. She makes me laugh and I am so lucky to have her in my life.

We also bought my daughters bird Clover from The Bird Cage. Clover is a Peach Front Conure, very smart fun bird, who loves to snuggle and cuddle.

While spending time at the Bird Cage I started breeding my Cockatiels Harely and Boo. I had several pretty babies. One of which we named Rocky who later became a breeder with a white face I bought from a store in Seattle. Rocky and Krystal had several babies which I took into the Bird Cage to sell. I have one baby from the two of them her name is Jessie.

I haven't been breeding because my ex-husband really didn't like the birds. Now I am in a bird home where my husband loves to spend time with the birds also. My Jungle consists of my husband, my daughter and my son and myself. Our three cats, Barney, Raven and Shadow. Our three Geckos and one frog. Then comes the birds we have Sweets our African Grey, Clover our Peach Front Conure, Jessie and Bandit our Cockatiels, and Boo Blue, The Boss, Peetie, and BabyBlue our Parakeets.

Yes we really have a Jungle here! But we are happy and enjoy living here at My Jungle. Hi my name is Angela I have started this page to help Bird People find other Bird People.
